from Financial Consultant
Councilman Alspach thanks Marshal Stephenson and the New Whiteland Police Department for their assistance during the recent parade.
Police Officer & Firemen Pension Fund
Marshal Stephenson was asked by Councilman Harris to investigate getting our police officers into this pension plan. Stephenson has obtained information from Bargersville as requested. Council directs Stephenson to forward this information to Attorney Robbins for review. We need to know the cost of moving to this program. President Perrin notes that our employees are covered by both PERF and an individual annuity to provide for their retirement needs.
This item was tabled until the next meeting due to Attorney Robbins’ absence.
Clerk-Treasurer Alspach presents the Ordinance to allow the General Fund to borrow $100,000.00 from the Sewer Fund until we receive our tax distribution. Councilman Noonan moves to adopt Ordinance 2052 on first reading. Councilman Alspach seconds the motion. Vote 3 affirmative.
Clerk-Treasurer Alspach presents a memo to transfer funds in both the Water and Sewer Utilities. Council approves both transfers.
The council will meet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4th, 2007 to consider Ordinance 2052 on final reading. The General Fund will be in the red following the update of tonight’s docket and we need to move money as quickly as possible. The ordinance cannot be passed twice tonight because we are short two council members. Council directs Clerk-Treasurer Alspach to notify the newspaper and the missing councilmen.
